Benefits

Tranquil Mind is a powerful but gentle supplement that can help your body produce its own neurotransmitters better by providing the necessary building blocks. It also contains botanicals known for their ability to soothe and stabilize the nerves.

Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers the brain and nerves use to communicate with the rest of the body. They play a role in every function but are largely known for mood regulation. One of the most important of these neurotransmitters is serotonin. Our body makes serotonin by taking tryptophan (an amino acid) and converting it using different enzymes to serotonin and melatonin (a neurotransmitter needed for proper sleep). If our bodies aren’t able to keep up with the demand of converting enough tryptophan to serotonin and melatonin it can leave us feeling anxious, restless, tearful, depressed, and off-kilter. Tranquility helps to restore these in a way that is gentle, natural, and safe

Ingredients

Griffonia Simplificolia seed extract

This plant contains seeds with a substance called 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). The body can easily convert 5-HTP into serotonin and melatonin. By giving the body what it needs you to gently increase serotonin you can often avoid the side effects that come with forcing levels higher via prescriptions. Furthermore, 5-HTP crosses the blood-brain barrier, a wall that prevents what’s in our circulation from getting into the brain and spinal cord. Serotonin goes on to be metabolized into melatonin, and this partly explains why Tranquility is also a great supplement for mood AND sleep.
*Because of its impact on the serotonin levels I recommend using this ONLY under the close observation of a medical professional, particularly if you are taking antidepressants, carbidopa, tramadol, or any of the triptans.

Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata)

A plant native to the Americas, it is used widely as a nerve tonic to treat stress, anxiety, insomnia, and has been shown beneficial in treating both emotional and physical discomfort associated with PMS and menopause. It has been shown to increase brain levels of GABA (gamma amino-butyric acid), a inhibitory neurotransmitter that prevents overstimulation and promotes restful sleep and relaxation. It has been shown to help lower blood pressure and contains antioxidant compounds that fight inflammation.

Inositol

Occasionally referred to as vitamin B8, inositol is a carbohydrate found largely in the brain but also in other tissues of mammals. Has been found to help regulate neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin. Lower levels have been found in people who struggle with anxiety, cravings, depression, compulsive disorder and biploar. Inositol has also been found beneficial in the function of insulin and in assisting with metabolic disorders such as diabetes and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
