Healing Flow
Benefits
There are few things as miserable as urinary tract infections, and for some people, they are a frustratingly common occurrence. Many people who suffer from frequent UTIs can tell when they need treatment, but getting relief is not always immediate or easy. Healing Flow uses antiseptic and antimicrobial botanicals to support urinary health.
This blend promotes the flow of urine, soothes pain, and calms inflamed, irritated bladder and ureter linings. For acute infections, it provides adjunctive support to traditional treatments. Bladrease can be taken to prevent future infections, and it can be used on a long-term, daily basis without the risk of developing antibiotic resistance. It has also been used to relieve symptoms of interstitial cystitis, particularly when combined with other anti-inflammatory measures.
Ingredients
Fennel (Foeniculum dulce) herb extractKnown for its sweet, licorice-like scent and flavor, fennel has long been used to aid in digestion. This herb soothes irritated walls of the bladder and ureters, supports the kidneys, and strengthens the liver to encourage proper bile flow. Fennel eases colic, gas, intestinal infections, indigestion, constipation, and cramping. Its mild anaesthetic properties also help to relieve pain in the urinary tract and digestive system. Fennel soothes coughs, eases lung and airway irritation, and supports breast milk production. Because it is commonly found in a variety of forms like teas, essential oils, dried extracts, and whole foods, it is easy to add this versatile herb to the daily regimen. |
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) fruit extractRelated to the common blueberry, bilberry comes from Europe and is a rich source of antioxidants, nutrients, and vitamins. It also contains phenolic compounds like quercetin, tannin, pectin, and cachexin, which are studied for their wide array of healing benefits. The red-blue pigment in bilberries contains anthocyanins, unique healing compounds known for being anti-viral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer. In addition to being antimicrobial, bilberry keeps bacteria from sticking onto bladder and ureter walls. It also contains probiotics which prevent bad bacteria from colonizing the nearby vaginal tissue. |
Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) leaf extractThe leaves of this flowering plant soothe and heal irritated or infected tissue, and have been used to treat acne, psoriasis, and eczema. When internalized appropriately, it can reduce systemic inflammation through its chemical compounds called gallic acid and tannins. Witch hazel can relieve hemorrhoids by shrinking and soothing rectal vessels that cause discomfort when irritated and enlarged. As an antiseptic, it can treat, heal, and prevent urinary tract infections. |
Burdock (Arctium lappa) root extractThis long-rooted vegetable native to Asia and Europe has traditionally been used for its diuretic and digestive effects. Urinary tract infections prevent the bladder from emptying because of inflamed, malfunctioning drainage tubes. Burdock soothes this discomfort by decreasing inflammation and enhancing drainage, thus supporting urine’s ability to carry out damaging toxins and bacteria. It is antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and can assist digestion by stimulating appetite and digestive secretions. |
