Benefits

Each of the botanicals in this beautiful blend are known for their ability to relieve pain and inflammation. The synergism of Phytoflex lotion is gentle enough for daily use on muscles and joints that are sore, overtaxed, or injured. Certain ingredients also improve bruising and promote healing.

Ingredients

Mountain arnica (Arnica montana) flower extract

This botanical has been used since the 1500s for pain-related conditions like bruising, inflammation, muscle soreness, and injury. Arnica’s anti-pain effects are thought to be from helenalin and dihydrohelenanin, chemical constituents that modify the cellular response to inflammation and healing. Arnica is frequently used in aesthetics to minimize bruising after procedures and injections, and while it can also be used orally in homeopathic preparations, it is imperative that this is done under the guidance of an experienced provider since concentrated dosages can be toxic.

Capsicum (Capsicum annuum) extract

Topical capsicum has been used for pain management since 1850, and it continues to grow in popularity as a safe and simple treatment. Multiple clinical trials have shown that it improves pain-related conditions like post-herpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. In combination with the other botanicals in this lotion, capsicum gently but powerfully supports the joints, muscles, and skin while nourishing, healing, and easing discomfort.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)

This supplement can be administered intravenously, orally, or topically for many different purposes. MSM is rich in sulfa, a nutrient necessary for cellular function and detoxification. Supplementation can increase flexibility and decrease inflammation and pain, making it effective for muscle and joint health. MSM is a popular supplement in anti-aging medicine, and it maintains the youthfulness of skin by supporting the production of collagen and keratin.

Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis) leaf juice

While aloe vera is most widely known for healing burns and wounds, it can also improve inflammatory skin conditions. It contains 20 amino acids, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, beta carotene, and over 70 active phytochemicals which contribute to its healing properties. Aloe vera is a popular addition to health supplies, beauty products, and cosmetics, and it assists skin regeneration by providing building blocks for the synthesis of collagen.

Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens) leaf oil

This cooling, penetrating anti-inflammatory oil soothes aches and pains of the muscles and joints. However, it is crucial that this essential oil is always diluted properly and used under the guidance of trained professionals. Wintergreen is not for internal use and is toxic if overdosed.

Peppermint (Mentha piperita) leaf oil

This antioxidant oil soothes muscle and joint pains, alleviates respiratory and gastrointestinal complaints, and calms muscle spasms. Peppermint also promotes hair growth, relieves itching, and prevents fungal and bacterial growth.

Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) wood oil

The oil from this evergreen tree soothes muscle aches and pains while being antiseptic and antifungal. Camphor wood oil also treats cold, cough, flu, and other respiratory complaints.

Helichrysum (Helichrysum angustifolium) flower oil

This anti-inflammatory oil soothes muscle aches, pains, and bruising, and it encourages cellular regeneration to promote wound healing. Helichrysum treats allergies, boosts weight loss, aids in detoxification, and supports the liver.

Marjoram (Origanum majorana) leaf and flower oil

This calming muscle relaxant can relieve pain and heal bruising. Marjoram also protects against oxidative stress and bacterial growth.

Thyme borneol (Thymus satureioides) leaf oil

This antioxidant oil reduces inflammation and soothes muscle aches and pains. Thyme treats respiratory complaints and is particularly helpful for sore throat and tonsillitis. In addition to being antimicrobial and antifungal, research shows that thyme has anticancer properties.

Cajeput (Melaleuca cajuputi) leaf oil

This antibacterial oil soothes nerve and muscle pains. Cajeput also supports digestion and alleviates respiratory complaints by boosting immune function and loosening phlegm.
